“I am arrived to Hong Kong on 2011-03-31 with my family. Before I decided to come here, my occupation was restaurant owner, bakery owner, and I supply groceries items to supermarket for wholesale price. 

The reason why I fled from Sri Lanka. Due to political issues and religion problems. To get into details, my family was facing death threats and torture, gangsters were collaborating with politicians to take revenge against my family.

September 2010, I was kidnapped and held for ransom for two days until my family was forced to pay. In December 2010, we relocated to another part of Sri Lanka. Threats were made against my children, forcing us to eventually decided to flee to Hong Kong.

We were relocating place to place, on matter what they were getting to us. That’s the main reason why we had to leave everything behind to get here, to leave for my children safety and for our safety. 

The first thing they will notice are my beautiful birds. I have got two birds, one Rocky and the other is Rosy. I brought Rocky to my house first when he was a little baby. Now he almost ‘8’ years old. I decided to buy him a girlfriend, which I named her as Rosy. They have been with my Family since then. I don’t keep them on the cage unless it is their bed time. Mostly during the other hours they can freely roam around the house. 

Hong Kong Government gives us safety. Even though I lost everything in my life, I am glad I was able to be safe in a secure place for my life. My world is my three son and they are doing great and have heat to willing and living. 

I would like to give an advice in life. We will be at the worst point sometimes but don’t give up, fight hard and there are always solutions to it.

take every chance you get in life because sometimes only happen once.
